about

This track is the first collaboration between West Coast vocal sensation Tiffany Austin and Jazz Mafia. This is also one of the first tracks written and recorded at the new Jazz Mafia Compound Studio as soon as we were up and running back in 2016.

Sidenote: If this song sounds familiar, it was featured extensively in the Soiled Dove, the Bay Area immersive circus-arts collaboration between Jazz Mafia and The Vau De Vire Society.

lyrics

Have you ever found yourself
Lost in your own wilderness?
Started at the edge of town
How could things have gotten this far?

Don’t retrace your steps, just go
Never self-reflect—you're gold
Look how much you shine when you’re alone

Shut the windows, bar the doors
Wouldn’t want a soul to get in
Then you set off on your lonely climb
They lie low when you are summit

Air up there is cold and thin
Do you really have thick skin?
Or are you just a hollow sounded by the wind?
