This song came from an idea Lateef presented to me about taking a sort of electro song of his and having us redo it as a Brassband style Hip-Hop track.. I loved the idea so Brandon and I hit the studio to lay down the basic groove. At the time, Brandon had a TON of weird marching drums and such so what we came up with is part New Orleans street beat and part Drumline. After the groove came together Rich Armstrong and I layered in a ton of brass and he took a blazing solo. Lateef came in and retracked his vocals to make an even better fit with the new music. Aima was over at the studio recording on something else, heard this song and said “ I have to be on this!” Well, she was back in the studio days later recording her verses and the track was finished. Fletch knocked this mix out of the park too. Look for more collabs with Lateef and Jazz Mafia in the near future! - Adam
