Ever since high school I've been fascinated by the style of music known as "DC Go-Go". It's one of the most infectiously grooving sub-genres of Funk I've ever encountered. Many groups have attempted to recreate Go Go but not many have succeeded. In this tune, the first few minutes are more in a vein that might not be that surprising for a brass band to play but around 2 minutes there's the big surprise moment and we're in DC! Percussionist Matt Lucas really lit this one up and of course guest vocals by Dublin and Mikki take it somewhere special as well.
