about

People are protesting in the streets for social justice. To meet this moment, the artists used a unique blend of Rock, Metal and Soul to create an anthem in support of the movement. “Mission” is the musical embodiment of the rage people are feeling and a siren call for all of us to tear down the walls of oppression, racism and injustice. The track's sound harkens back to groups like Living Color and Fishbone and is in some ways a tribute to those often overlooked and under-appreciated pioneers.

lyrics

By Trance and The Doom Patrol

Denigrated, still we make it
Battle everyday to survive
Daily struggle, workin double
While so-called patriots turn a blind eye

They don’t see us, but want to be us
’til they’re calling to report a crime
They must know they’re running out of time

Do you keep working
When nobody understands
Do you stop working
When breaking you’s the only plan
Is it all worth it
You’re holding up your hands
But you can
Never surrender, never surrender

On a mission - Hey
On a mission
Demolition - Tear down the wall ya’ll
On a mission - Hey
On a mission - Oh people
Demolition - Fools about to fall now
Fools about to fall

(We’ll) Wait in line, won’t be denied
Won’t give in to your suppression
Though you swear that all is fair
We don’t care
We’re done with your deception

Now the script you try to flip
Like you’re the ones who need 2 be afraid
While in the streets and on our knees
You condemn us to an early grave

Do you keep working
When so many say we’ll fail
Do you stop working
When it seems its been to no avail
Is it all worth it
We’ve been through so much hell
But we can
Never surrender, never surrender

CHORUS

Liars - we’re coming for ya
Cheaters - we’re coming for ya
Oppressors - we’re coming for ya
Power - we’re coming for ya

Do you keep working
Try to overcome
Do you stop working
When thinking people act so dumb
Is it all worth it
This pandemonium
Never sur-
Never sur-
Never surrender

CHORUS

We’re coming for ya
And we will rise
