about

The 4th single in the release cycle for our upcoming “Suite San Francisco”, Lady Luck features two heartfelt vocal performances by Crystal Monee Hall and Aima The DRMR. The music is inspired by Jamaican Dub and the idea of mixing it with the rich textures of a live orchestra. The 25 piece ensemble was recorded in the large and rich sounding acoustic environment of Plymouth Church of Jazz and Justice in Oakland, giving it a naturally rich and warm sound. The lyrics touch on themes of the various high risk/reward boom eras of the city of San Francisco.; The idea that someone’s fate could shift so quickly rags to riches, or the opposite, is an ethos that has been prevalent in the City By The Bay since the Gold Rush of the mid 1800s.

lyrics

Lady Luck Part One Lyrics
Intro:  Yeah etc…

V1
Me and Lady Luck we got a love hate thing
The way she rock my world is embarrassing
Broken promises and many fiery rings to jump through
Roll the dice lay everything on the line
All the while I’m run-in outta borrowed time
Diggin in my empty pockets just can’t seem to find you

Chorus 1
It comes so easy
(It comes and goes to easy to me)
It comes and goes so easy
(It comes and goes to easy to me)

It comes so easy
(It comes and goes to easy to me)
It comes and goes so easy
(It comes and goes to easy to me)

(Rap)

Chorus 2
You’re blowing like the wind
We’re lovers but not friends
You got me wonderin'
If this world is mine
(Just what world is mine)
If This World is mine
(This World is mine)
