about

From a live performance at Treat Social Club in SF on 6/14/2015
It's not often that we take a break from Future Jazz and do a cover of a classic Jazz Song but we had to do it with this classic Duke Ellington ethereal ballad dating back to the 70s. Resident orchestrator Matt Wong (Jon Batiste) put together a tasteful new arrangement and frequent Jazz Mafia vocalist Trance Thompson digs deep into the spirituality of the lyrics. This spacious downtempo piece features the 18 piece Realistic Orchestra in a tender and intimate moment
