In France, a skinny man died of a big disease with a little name By chance his girlfriend came across a needle and soon she did the same At home there are seventeen-year-old boys and their idea of fun Is being in a gang called 'The Disciples' High on crack and totin' a machine gun Time Times Hurricane Annie ripped the ceiling of a church and killed everyone inside You turn on the telly and every other story is tellin' you somebody died A sister killed her baby 'cause she couldn't afford to feed it And yet we're sending people to the moon In September, my cousin tried reefer for the very first time Now he's doing horse, it's June, unh Times Times It's silly, no? When a rocket ship explodes and everybody still wants to fly But some say a man ain't happy unless a man truly dies Oh why? Time Time Baby make a speech, Star Wars fly Neighbors just shine it on But if a night falls and a bomb falls Will anybody see the dawn? Time, mm Times Is it silly, no? When a rocket blows and, and everybody still wants to fly Some say man ain't happy truly until a man truly dies Oh why, oh why? Sign o' the times, unh Time Time Sign o' the times mess with your mind Hurry before it's too late Let's fall in love, get married, have a baby We'll call him Nate If it's a boy Time Times

Asked you once but You lied about 3 or 4 times, yea... Why? Why do you lie? Why do you lie? Why? Why? Why do you lie? Why do you lie? Why? I've been giving you Every little bit of me why Do you have to lie? Now I see you tripping when I bought you them Jordans last week Why, do you gotta lie babe? I've caught you now You thought you be living this double life (Ooo ooo) Baby you could've been Touchin' this all last night Why oh why why why? Why? Why do you lie? Why do you lie? Why? Why? Why do you lie? Why do you lie? Why?

Dig if you will the picture Of you and I engaged in a kiss The sweat of your body covers me Can you my darling...can you picture this? Dream if you can A courtyard An ocean of violets in bloom Animals strike curious poses They feel the heat The heat between me and you How can you just leave me standing? Alone in a world that's so cold Maybe I'm just too demanding Maybe I'm just like my father too bold Maybe you're just like my mother She's never satisfied Why do we scream at each other This is what it sounds like when doves cry. Touch if you will my stomach Feel how it trembles inside You've got the butterflies all tied up Don't make me chase you Even doves have pride How can you just leave me standing? Alone in a world so cold (world so cold) Maybe I'm just too demanding Maybe I'm just like my father too bold Maybe you're just like my mother She's never satisfied Why do we scream at each other This is what it sounds like when doves cry

Tracy died soon after a long fought civil war Just after I'd wiped away his last tear I guess he's better off than he was before A whole lot better off than the fools he left here I used to cry for Tracy 'cause he was my only friend Those kind of cars don't pass u every day I used to cry for Tracy because I wanted to see him again But sometimes, sometimes life ain't always the way Sometimes it snows in April Sometimes I feel so bad, so bad Sometimes I wish that life was never ending And all good things, they say, never last Springtime was always my favorite time of year A time for lovers holding hands in the rain Now springtime only reminds me of Tracy's tears Always cry for love, never cry for pain He used to say so strong, unafraid to die Unafraid of the death that left me Hypnotized No, staring at his picture I realized No one could cry the way my Tracy cried Sometimes it snows in April Sometimes I feel so bad Sometimes, sometimes I wish that life was never ending But all good things, they say, never last I often dream of heaven and I know that Tracy's there I know that he has found another friend Maybe he's found the answer to all the April snow Maybe one day I'll see my Tracy again Sometimes it snows in April Sometimes I feel so bad So bad Sometimes I wish that life was never ending But all good things, they say, never last But all good things they say, never last And love, it isn't love until it's past

about

The third in our series of EPs exploring the unique Jazz Mafia approach of re-imagining songs from iconic artists.
With “Vol. 3” we dive into the catalogue of Prince focusing on retelling the musical story of 3 songs written and recorded by the Purple one. We added in one of our live show faves “Why Do You Lie” which was co-produced by Prince for his protege Liv Warfiled, so it’s all in the Purple family on this EP. The featured vocalists are Trance Thompson, Nataly Michell Wright and Tym Brown (aka TNT) and they are all featured individually as well as doing their trademark ensemble arrangements throughout.
